Using A Tamper Seal For Hygiene And Security With Your Consumables

By Felton F. Desantis

Using a tamper seal is a great way to let consumers know that they can expect an uncompromised, quality product within the container. A tamper evident band on a product is proof that the item has not been opened outside of the normal factory conditions. It shows that the bottle, jar or carton can be trusted to contain an uncontaminated product, as it left the warehouse.

This is important to consumers for many reasons, with the first and most important being security. In recent years, threats to national security have increased the general public's alertness and attention which have had a knock-on effect on the food industry. A safety seal boosts public confidence in the merchandise, and could be the element needed to make the sale. A broken seal will normally mean that air or other elements have got into the product, and this will be detrimental to the quality and hygiene of the item which could be dangerous to the consumer.

Tamper seals are also key to the manufacturers of the product for a few reasons. The usage of the anti-tamper device can also work well as a sealing aid, protecting leaks from occurring due to the tight compression of the plastic seal. When heat is applied to the plastic, it shrinks to map exactly around the product, covering the opening and holding the lid or cap on tightly. It can also develop the look of the item, with the branded casing making the product look more aesthetically pleasing.

Most conditioned suppliers will offer a superior product that this well made, expertly printed and delivered on time. Seal manufacturers with a happy client base will have plenty of decent testimonials online to show that they are worth trading with. Another good sign is a company that does a test run, or sends through a final mock-up of the design ahead of production. There is no better way to check the quality and appearance of the final product that to see a sample.

With all the difficult work that will go into developing and making the product, it is worth spending time focusing on the smaller details like the tamper seal. Many hours may have already been spent within the Marketing team to get the look of the product right, so it is a good idea to include the protective cap in this planning. After all, tamper seals will be one of the first things the consumer sees, so they should be perfect.
