The Passion for Consumer Electronics

By Mark Sounding

Just a few years back, the world of consumer electronics consisted basically of just television sets and transistor radios. However , the past few decades saw the industry expand and introduce products that touch just about every side of our daily lives.

In the early days of electronics, straightforward TVs and radios were the only devices the average person came in contact with. The few exceptions were among those who worked with military electronic applications, such as radar, or in highly technical engineering and medical fields. Now, patrons will spend close to 200 billion dollars each year on private electronic items.

As technology advances and demand increases, more products are designed and delivered to the marketplace. Similarly, developments in production strategies make the products less expensive and more accessible to more people. Today, it is difficult to think how we ever got along without all the devices we take lightly and rely on to get us thru our lives each day. Like, for example, the new Windows Kinect. Many of us are now looking to buy Windows Kinect.

From the time our electronic alarm wakes us in the morning, till we send our last email before we retire to bed, we are surrounded by these convenient devices. We take our orange from our electronically controlled refrigerator and heat our breakfast pastry in the digital microwave oven.

Our heating and air conditioning is automatically caring for our comfort, while our washing machine knows exactly how many pounds of unclean attire we put into it. If we would like to a little entertainment, we have our multi-media home theaters with DVD players and recorders or we can hear satellite radio from across the world.

If we wish to catch up on a good novel, while we play a video game, our ebooks can read aloud to us. We will be able to do our shopping on the net and see the delivery man's face on our video doorbell when our products arrives. When the kids come back home from college, we are able to take their picture and reminisce straight away with the aid of our digital camera.

Even away from home, our devices follow us wherever we go. As we leave the house we set the safety system and hit the remote to open the automobile. Behind the wheel, we flip on the radar detector and the GPS system while we hear our surround sound MP3 player. At any point, we can take or make a telephone call from our car. Naturally, the smarter, more wary drivers use their hands free headphones.

The majority of these things were just science fiction one or two short years ago, but now, electronics are a part of our method of life.
